A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial title following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive play style and regular outbursts on court had led commentators to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet defended 4 initial break points in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
