Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Audiences can expect discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
